Custom order from Kimono Lamps

Imagine a lampshade made with you in mind…

Do I do custom orders?

Yes, I do!

Here is a few notes on what to expect when you decide to contact me for a lampshade made especially for you:

It usually takes about 3 weeks from your initial email to the finished lampshade turning up at your door.

I currently make 4 types of lampshades:

  • Fuji – h 21 cm x 27 cm dia – suitable for small bedside or table lamps – € 95 (or €155 for a pair)
  • Osaka – h 23 cm x 32 cm dia – suitable for medium bedside or table lamps – € 120 (or €198 a pair)
  • Kyoto – h 34.5 cm x 39 cm dia – suitable for heavier table lamps and small floor lamps – € 160
  • Tokyo – h 45.5 cm x 48 cm dia best for fully fledged, decorated or turned floor lamps  –  € 199

I will ask you about the room it’s going to live in and if you have any colour/pattern preferences. Also, If you are looking for a shade to fit a particular lamp base, please let me know the dimensions of that base. You can email pictures of the interior or colour scheme details too. Photos taken with your mobile phone are fine.

I will suggest the suitable size of the lampshade and e-mail you the photographs of kimono fabrics to choose from.

Once you decide on the fabric I start working on your shade and email you pictures of the work in progress with decorative trims options that best suit the lampshade.

I then send you a PayPal receipt for the lampshade plus delivery charges by email.

You can decide on other payment options – such as check, money transfer or pick up and cash payment. Those would be a little more time consuming as I only ship your unique shade once the payment is cleared.

Remember – not only are you getting a gorgeous, one of a kind lampshade for your home; you’re also helping to save a beautiful piece of authentic kimono and letting the world enjoy it again in a different neck of the woods.

Kimono Lamp

This lamp belongs to a customer who used to live in Japan. She then moved back to Ireland bringing this beautiful traditional lamp base with her.

The base has waited years for the matching lampshade I custom made recently choosing the kimono fabric and the size of the shade in proportion to the base. What do you think of this?
